For his perfect size “pick me up” and for the fantastic adaptability Danubio is one of my must have for a dinner with friends. I use it instead of bread during informal dinners.
What is it? It’s a bread dough filled with cheese and salami (or ham) ! Easy!!

For the recipe you will need:

  • 3 eggs (+1 one yolk to brush it on the surface)
  • 1/4 cup of warm milk
  • 100 gr of butter
  • 25 gr of fresh yeast (You can buy it at the bread counter in your favourite supermarket)
  • 550 gr of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan
  • Cheese for the filling (I use cheddar, it’s not expensive and very tasty)
  • Salami for the filling (or ham)
